MARTIN MENDELSBERG, INTERNATIONAL JURY “POSTERISTS IN THE WORLD 2019”

The Peruvian Design Association, in coordination with the Decentralized Unit of the Cuzco Region, announces Martin Mendelsberg as a jury in the international contest “Posterists in the World” 2019 Cuzco, Peru

Martin Mendelsberg,  MFA University of Denver and BFA Minneapolis College of Art & Design. Mendelsberg is a designer, typographer and design educator. He has exhibited internationally in Australia, New Zealand, China, Iran, South Korea, Germany, France, Poland, Slovakia, Russia, Cyprus, Turkey and the United States.

The designer’s work is represented in permanent collections at The Museum of New Zealand, Victoria University School of Architecture, Govett-Brewster Art Gallery, Yale University: Haas Arts Special Collections, The Florida Holocaust Museum, The Mizel Museum, Greeley Holocaust Observance Committee and The Center for the Study of Political Graphics in Los Angeles. His Hebrew typeface designs, Torah and Torah Neue are distributed by Masterfont Ltd in Tel Aviv, Israel. Mr. Mendelsberg is currently on the faculty of Metropolitan State University of Denver, USA.

Mr. Mendelsberg is an Affiliate Professor at Metropolitan State University of Denver and as a design educator teaching in colleges and universities in America and in New Zealand, Mr. Mendelsberg challenges his students to think critically and strategically when addressing user-centered visual communications problems. His students are challenged to engage in social, political and environmental issues with the knowledge that design reveals the potential to change behaviors in positive ways.

Cuzco, the mythical capital of the Inca Empire, proudly preserves its walls and stone walls, which seem to be reborn every time one registers its centuries-old streets.
